About

I was a teen mom, and now that my 3 kids are adults, I feel like an older-wiser teenager.  Free to do whatever I want, but wise enough to know/want what’s better for me.

I was born in NM, raised in CO (lived there a total of 25 years), moved to AZ in 2005 and lived there for 13 years until moving to Kansas City MO, where I currently live.  During the day I am the GM of an on-demand delivery company where I’ve worked since 1994.  In 2010 I took a break from this company and moved to NM to pursue a career in law enforcement and a relationship.  During that year I got married for the first time, divorced, and then lost the law enforcement job.

I started quilting in 2011.  I feel quilting was truly a gift from God, especially after what I’d gone through the year prior.  Before quilting, I didn’t have any hobbies besides eating and reading (do those qualify as hobbies?). My crafting history included Home Economics class in middle school, dabbling in cross-stitch when I was 15 yrs old and pregnant, and making a dress and costumes for my kids in my early 20s.  I’d always loved music but couldn’t sing and didn’t play any instruments.  Anyway, when I finally tried quilting it was something I was really good at!  I became obsessed and I’ve been a quilting maniac ever since! And of course, I write about my obsession  passion on this blog.

Quilting aside, I’m a born-again Christian.  I accepted Christ when I was a young teen because I didn’t want to go to hell. But I didn’t know what it meant to have, nor the significance of having, a personal relationship w/Christ until I was well into my 30s. For 20+ yrs I lived my life, as The Rhett Walker Band sings in When Mercy Found Me, “wild and free”.  It did finally catch up to me and it left me broken and empty w/a hardened heart. But mercy did find me and I started living my life in a way to glorify God and things changed for the better. I got in the Word and started reading for myself about God’s promises.  This doesn’t mean I’m perfect or that I don’t still experience struggles or problems, but I now have peace and hope. I know that no matter what, God has my back and better things are still to come.
With all of this being said, I enjoy going to church and would love to play bass guitar in the worship band someday…but I’ve got to make time to practice!

Oh!  Did I mention, I’m a grandma?! I have 4 beautiful grands from my daughter (my eldest child).

I’m looking forward to someday getting married again and possibly moving away from the city and growing/raising some of my own food.

In the meantime,  it is my goal to encourage and my hope to inspire in all I do!

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Threads for Life

I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living. Psalm 27:13 NASB

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.  Ephesians 2:8 NIV

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.  John 16:33 NIV

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
