Quilt Festival in Houston

Yes! I finally I went to Quilt Festival Houston !

Not only was it my first time at Quilt Festival, but it was also my first trip to Houston.

It is a massive quilt show!  Definitely the biggest I’ve been to.  It is International after all.

There were quilts and people from all over the world.

The blue pins on the map show where peeps came from.

I met my friends there. One flew in from Phoenix and the other from Denver.  I flew in on Halloween (Thursday night), spent 2 full days, and flew out on Sunday morning. It wasn’t enough time. There is so much to see! Note to self: You must plan to stay at least 3 full days next time.

Needless to say, the quilts were AMAZING!  I know I didn’t see them all but here are some faves of the ones I did see.

If you haven’t ever been, I recommend going at least once. I plan to go again in a few years.

I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving!

Until next time, Happy Stitchin’ & God Bless!

The Best Working Vacation Ever!

In September I spent 5 days/nights in Grand Lake CO. It was a work trip, and work was done, but it felt more like a vacation!

I went off-roading.

I played horse shoes.

I played cornhole.

I helped put a puzzle together.

I ate a lot of delicious food.

I traipsed through Rocky Mountain National Park.

I fished on the Colorado River.

And I took so many stunning pics pics of Colorful Colorado!

Here are some of my favorites.

Colorado is breathtaking! Thanks for stopping by!

For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with goodness, goodness with knowledge, knowledge with self-control, self-control with endurance, endurance with godliness, godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they will keep you from being useless or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Peter‬ ‭1:5-8‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

Catching Up – Last Post of 2018

I can’t believe it’s been almost 3 months since my last blog post! Time waits for no woman.  Ain’t that the truth! Work keeps me extremely busy, but I have managed some “me time”. And here’s what I’ve been up to. Warning: this will be a little lengthy.

I went to my first Chiefs game when they played the Denver Broncos, w/my friend Vivian, who also happens to be the Pastor’s wife. It was a great first experience at Arrowhead Stadium. I decided to keep it neutral and not wear any team gear and I cheered for both teams thank you very much!

I’ve become a member of Relevant Church, joined a connect up group and have made several new friends, including one who quilts and pet-sits for traveling friends! So I already know where I’m leaving Moe when I travel next year.

I traded in Casper the Friendly Soul (Kia) for my dream car; a Subaru Crosstrek.  Her name is Scarlett.

And I did it just in time for the Thanksgiving Weekend Blizzard. We got almost 6 inches of snow, the most snow KC has had in several years. It was fun!

I’ve seen several movies at the awesome B&B Theater here in Liberty. All of the auditoriums have heated, leather, recliners. It’s pretty nifty!

I finished three more quilts which, if I’m not mistaken, catches me up on WIPs. Yay me!  The first and biggest quilt, Be My Neighbor, I sent to my dear friend Katy of KatyQuilts (IG: @katyquilts) back before I moved to MO. She returned it to me in October when she came to MO to visit her MIL. At that time, I gave her 2 more flimsies to take back to MI to quilt for me which she did and promptly returned. Look at the FABULOUS quilting she does! Such talent!

I celebrated my 47th birthday. Praise God!img_1208

And my first Christmas in MO.img_0999-1Besides sewing, and going to church and the picture show, I also go to open houses whenever I get the opportunity.  And that’s how I found the house that I have fallen in love with! It’s been on the market for over 90 days.  I’ve got a few more months until my lease is up, so I’m praying for it to stay on the market a little longer, but I’m pretty sure God is saving it for me. =)

And the best news of all! My daughter and grands are coming to visit me! I’ll be picking them up from the airport after work. I’m so excited!

Thanks for stopping by.

Until next time, happy stitchin’ and God Bless!

I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.  I know both how to have a little, and I know how to have a lot.  In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being content — whether well fed or hungry, whether in abundance or in need. I am able to do all things through Him who strengthens me. Phil 4:11-13 HCSB
