Moving Back to Blogger

Happy New Year All!

After my Eleven Months Hence post, I decided to simplify my blogging life by moving back to Blogger. However, the process of moving my custom domain and content over is not nearly as simple as the YouTube vids and articles make it seem. I’m going to continue to try to figure it out but in the meantime, I wanted to let y’all know so you can start following me there. I published this test post, on Blogger last weekend. I’ve yet to find a follow button but there is a subscribe button in the sidebar on the right.

I know I’m not that big a deal and I’m not trying to become a sensation by any means, I’m just pointing my quilty/bloggy friends to my new home.

I look forward to seeing y’all on Blogger!

P.S. If any of you has experience with or knows anything about moving a custom domain from WordPress to Blogger, please reach out. Thx!

My BIG News!

I think I’ve kept y’all in suspense long enough, though it hasn’t been intentional. Running a business is extremely demanding, but things are coming along well and I have settled in nicely both at home and in the office.

For the last several years I said my dream longarm machine was the HQ Amara. I played on it every time I went into Angela Walters’ shop, Quilting Is My Therapy. And I was so looking forward to being part of her LongAmy. But after months of trying to win an APQS longarm ( they gave a machine away every quarter last year!) I started comparing their features and prices with the Handi Quilter Amara. Then when I knew I was moving to Wisconsin, I decided it wouldn’t be as fun being in Angela’s LongArmy if I didn’t live in Missouri, so I started leaning more toward an APQS machine. And then I went to an APQS Roadshow – and that was all she wrote!

I got a fantastic deal on an APQS Lucey on a 12-foot Deluxe table w/overhead lighting and automatic quilt advance! And she fits perfectly in the basement of my new house!

Here are a few other pics of the new sewing room.

The only thing I’ve sewn/quilted in my new sewing room is the orange and blue quilt you see in these pictures. It’s a baby quilt for my new grandbaby. I just finished sewing the binding on right before I started this blog post. I’ll post a better pic of it later. I’m looking forward to more stitching/quilting time in the near future!

Until next time, Happy Stitchin’ & God Bless!

Finished or Not Finished Friday

More Finishes!

Last year I participated in a sew-along with my local quilty BFF, Madonna. Every month we’d make some scrappy blocks and share them via Instagram on the 4th Saturday of the month.

This Cross Plus quilt is a finish from that sew along. I made this scrappilicious quilt for my daughter’s birthday. It was about 5 weeks late, but she loves it!

Her cat loves it too!

Katy quilted it for me…and even blogged about it. 😁

Next up is my Stay Wild Build A Quilt (2020 -2021 4th annual) finish. Build A Quilt is Angela Walters’s version of block of the month. I enjoy BAQ immensely. I’m currently on my 3rd BAQ, but it’s Angela’s 5th Annual. Do you see my little beastie photobomber? His name is Moe.

My long arm locked up when I was almost half way through this quilt. I took it off the frame and attempted to try to finish it on my domestic. I didn’t get very far before I hated what I did. I begged Katy to finish it for me and she obliged. Thanks Katy! 🙏🏼 I have since got Esperanza serviced and she is stitchin’ again.

Speaking of long arms, APQS is giving away another Millie! Apparantly they give one away at least 2x a year. I’ve been faithfully entering everyday.

And last but not least is a baby quilt for my new grand niece. I call it a jellyroll remix. I used various sized 1.5” strips, and quilted it with a simple meander. I really like how it turned out!

The backing is a vintage piece I got from Katy. It worked perfectly!

And that’s a wrap! Thanks for stopping by. Until next time, God bless and happy stitchin’!

People do not drift toward Holiness. Apart from grace-driven effort, people do not gravitate toward godliness, prayer, obedience to Scripture, faith, and delight in the Lord. We drift toward compromise and call it tolerance; we drift toward disobedience and call it freedom; we drift toward superstition and call it faith. We cherish the indiscipline of lost self-control and call it relaxation; we slouch toward prayerlessness and delude ourselves into thinking we have escaped legalism; we slide toward godlessness and convince ourselves we have been liberated.”– DA Carson
